About The Event

WiRe Table Talk 2021 will foster relationships and support professional growth through the exchange of ideas on business practices, industry events, career growth and personal development.

Each forum will engage six (6) WiRe member participants with two (2) Mentors over a private lunch at Ascot's. 

WiRe members will have the opportunity to learn from an extensive list of accomplished leaders in reinsurance who will guide the Table Talk 2021 discussions by sharing focused insights, encouragement and guidance on subjects such as:

         - business/ industry hot topics 

         - personal, professional development

Kathleen Reardon joined Hiscox Re & ILS in January 2021 as CEO. From 2014 to 2020, Kathleen was CEO of Hamilton Re, Ltd., previously serving as Chief Underwriting Officer Property from 2012. Prior to Hamilton, Kathleen served as SVP, Chief Underwriting Officer International for ACE (now Chubb) Tempest Re Bermuda. She joined ACE Tempest Re after working in underwriting roles at ACE Financial Solutions International from 2000 and actuarial roles at ACE USA, following ACE Limited’s acquisition of CIGNA’s P&C business, from 1996. Kathleen is Co-founder and Board member of Women in Reinsurance in Bermuda, having served as Chair from 2014-2019; and serves as a founding Committee Member of WeSpeak Bermuda. Kathleen served as an officer of the Reinsurance Association of America from 2018-2020. Kathleen is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she currently serves on the Board of Trustees and was inducted into The Drexel 100, its alumni hall of fame, in 2019.

Julia Henderson After graduating with Honors from Babson College, Ms. Henderson started her career in analytics for a small market research firm in Boston. She moved to Bermuda 2003 and began working in the Ventures unit at RenaissanceRe before moving to Underwriting. She took a sabbatical to earn an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Wharton, she worked in Private Equity for Pine Brook Road Partners on a number of their insurance related investments.

After graduating she worked as a consultant at Nephila Capital advising the Hedge Fund on trading strategies before moving to PSQR, a start-up Macro-Economics Hedge Fund founded by Paolo Pellegrini who led Paulson & Co to their 2008 housing short win. In 2010 she was approached to move to Partner Re as an Underwriter, and was later promoted to Vice President and Senior Underwriter leading their World Wide Insurance-Linked Securities and World Wide Retrocession Portfolios.

In 2013, Ms. Henderson joined Brit Insurance opening their new Bermuda office as Senior Vice President responsible for building and managing Brit Bermuda's Property Treaty portfolio; Julia was also the Founding Executive Director of Sussex Capital, Brit’s first open market third party capital fund. In 2018 Julia joined Lutece Investment Management as Chief Underwriting Officer, and in April 2020 Lutece was acquired by Peak Re and Lutece was renamed Peak Capital. She recently earned a Diploma in Board Direction from the Institute of Directors. She recently joined the Board of Stable, an Insurtech company focused on solving price volatility in the $5 trillion food commodity industry. Julia enjoys coaching fitness classes in her free time and is lucky to have her husband and two girls.
