Mindfulness is gaining a prominent place within society - training is offered in medicine, mental health care, education, sports and in business. Many of the world’s most respected and renowned companies (e.g. Google, BlackRock, Nike, Goldman Sachs and Aetna) have adopted successful evidenced-based mindfulness programs. Mindfulness practices have become a powerful tool for employees to manage stress, deepen concentration and respond to complexities and uncertainties within the workplace.
What exactly is mindfulness? Simply put, mindfulness is training for the mind. With attention waning and stress on the rise, training and strengthening one's mental muscle are key to greater calm, focus, and compassion. The wide range of benefits are supported by science and enjoyed by those who practice consistently.
This introductory presentation would be both conceptual and experiential. The session will share how our increasingly complex world intensifies our stress and inattention—which negatively impacting health, happiness and job performance. We will also practice simple techniques that help us tap into a sense of well-being during our day-to-day lives.
