Women in Reinsurance (“WiRe”), the organization for professional women employed in the Bermuda reinsurance sector, today announced that Peta White has been appointed Chair of the Board. She succeeds Kathleen Reardon who will remain a director.
Ms. White is co-head of Global Reinsurance Operations and Senior Managing Director, Head of North America Property Reinsurance at Markel Global Reinsurance. CEO Hamilton Re Kathleen Reardon has been Board Chair of WiRe since 2014.
“I’m thrilled to announce Peta’s appointment,” said Ms. Reardon. “As an active member of our Board since 2017, and a recognized leader in the Bermuda reinsurance space, I know she’s the ideal next Chair to continue WiRe’s journey and persist as an advocate group for women. I’m grateful to my Board, committees and our dedicated members for 10 remarkable years of pulling together to strengthen the industry and look forward to being an active member of the Board.”
“I am honored to become the Chair of WiRe,” said Ms. White. “I look forward to working with my Board colleagues and our committees as we continue to provide our members with growth opportunities through networking, mentoring and professional development activities. Our goals include implementing a formal mentoring programme and collaborating with other inclusive organizations in Bermuda to offer networking and training events that will appeal to women at all stages of their reinsurance careers.
